The Angler and His Fishing Rod

There lived an Angler near the river. He used to take his fishing rod to the river bank every day to catch fish. Once he caught the fish; he used to bring them back to his village and sold them.
The Angler kept one fishing hook with him. It was very delicate and could only catch small fish.
One day, the Angler reached the river bank in the morning and set up his bait.
He kept sitting for hours but could not catch any fish. He thought, ‘It has been a bad day. I could not catch any fish. What will my family eat today?’ By the evening, he was sad and decided to go back home.
As he was about to take his fishing rod out of the water, suddenly he felt a pull. The pull was very strong. He knew it was a big fish. He was very excited. But he realised that his fish hook would break if he tried to pull out the fishing rod.
The Angler again felt sad. But a thought crossed his mind, ‘If I gently pull the rod out, the fish will resist less. Then it will not break the hook as well. I will be able to take home some food.’

The Angler maintained his calm and slowly and steadily started pulling the rod out of the water. He could see from the distance that the fish was also coming out of the water. As the fish was on the surface, he immediately pulled it out and walked towards his home.
The Angler was very happy and had a hearty meal with his family.
