A barber used to serve the royal families. One day, the barber came to the palace with his son. His son saw a beautiful girl in the garden and fell in love with her immediately. When they went home, the son told his father about the girl. The son said, “Father, I want to marry that girl.” His father said, “We are from a different class and that girl is from a different class. It will not be possible.” But the son refused to listen to his father. He stopped eating and drinking. Many people tried to persuade him to change his mind but he refused. After a few days, due to starvation, the son died. Many days later, the barber went to Lord Buddha and told him everything. Lord Buddha replied, “This was bound to happen as your son wanted something he could never have.”
