Once upon a time, a group of friends decided to play a soccer game on Sunday. Everyone would bring at least one thing used in the game of soccer. On Sunday morning, everybody gathered in the park at 12:00 noon. All of them were excited for the game. Each one of them brought one thing related to the game. Robert brought a football, Ben brought a goalpost, Peter brought a flag, Harry brought the gloves, Henry brought a whistle and so on. Just before the game started, they had a small argument about picking the teams. Then, Henry said, “The one who has brought the most important object would get to pick the teams.”
Everybody agreed. But they could not decide which had been the most important object in the game of soccer. So finally, they just started playing by using all the objects to see which things were truly essential. The first thing they threw away was the whistle because the referee could shout instead of blowing his whistle.
Then, they tried to save the ball without the gloves and they easily managed it. So, the gloves were not very important. Then, they stopped using corner flags and used bins instead of goalposts. At last, they replaced the football with the tin and kept playing. While they were playing with the tin, a man and his son were passing by.
The man looked at them and said to his son, “Look at these boys and learn from them. Even without a ball, they are playing, though they will never improve playing that way.” The boys heard his words, and realised that because of their ego and pride, they had turned a great match into a shameful display, which they were not enjoying at all. Finally, they put their egoistic opinions away and started a great match once again. They used all the objects in their game and enjoyed a lot.
