Once there were two friends, one blind and another crippled. They begged for alms together and made a living. One day, they were near a garden and the master of the garden feeling pity for the two, allowed them to take rest inside the garden on the condition that they would not pluck fruit or anything in the garden. They agreed. As they were resting, the crippled man told the blind man that he felt like eating the fruits inside the garden which he was able to see. On hearing him, the blind man also said that he too felt like eating the fruit. But they did not know how to get at the fruit. Just then the overseer of the garden feeling pity for them gave them an idea that the blind man should carry the crippled man on his shoulders and the latter would pluck the fruits. They did the same and plucked most of the fruits and ate them. When the master of the garden came there, he was angry to see the fruits gone. The blind man and the crippled man tried to be innocent and asked how they could steal the fruits as one couldn’t see and another couldn’t walk. The owner knew how they had plucked the fruits, so he drove them away.
