Princess Lily had to go across the river. There was a boat but there was no boatman in sight. “Come and sit, Princess,” said a voice, “I’ll ferry you across.” And when she sat in the boat, the invisible boatman was rowing it! After that day, the princess began to come to that boat very often because she was fascinated by the voice of the invisible boatman. One day, she asked the voice, “Who are you?” “I was a boatman,” it replied, “I was very selfish. So, I was cursed to become invisible and continue to ferry people!” “Is there no way to break the curse?” asked Princess Lily. “If I unselfishly help people, I will get my old form again!” Princess Lily told everyone the story of the boatman and soon he was able to work off the curse. The princess fell in love with him when she saw him finally and they were married!
