Once upon a time, a husband and his wife set out upon a journey through the forest. As was the custom, the husband walked ahead carrying his rifle and the wife followed behind. When they reached a dense part of the forest, all of a sudden some shiftas (handits) emerged from the forest. The man was terrified and began to run, trying to escape. But the woman was brave and stopped him. She grabbed the rifle from his hands and fired at the shiftas. The shiftas were frightened and dropped their guns. They ran away into the other part of the forest. Then, she told her husband to pick up all the rifles and asked him to follow her. Finally, they reached the big yard of a rich man. There, she found a big drum, and started crying out and singing the songs of victory. When people gathered around, she said, “This man cannot protect his wife. Everyone should be ashamed of him.” People were ashamed of him and killed him.
