Cecilia went to a school that stood close to a dense forest. If one walked 10 minutes into the forest, they could see a log cabin. Many children in the school claimed that it was haunted. Cecilia, however, did not believe in the rumour and laughed at her friends when they mentioned the cabin. “If you are so brave, why don’t you spend some time in the cabin?” suggested one of her friends. Cecilia accepted the challenge and did as she was told. For sometime nothing happened in the cabin. Cecilia became bored and thought of playing a prank on her friends. “No, please…help me,” she cried at the top of her voice. Her friends thought she was in danger and came running to her aid. When they reached the cabin and opened the door, Cecilia started laughing. “I was joking,” she said. Her friends were annoyed, so she apologised to them and they went back.
Unconscious Cecilia
Cecilia then decided to spend a few more minutes in the cabin. Nothing happened for some time. Then after 15 minutes, Cecilia started screaming again. This time her friends did not come running. “I think she is trying to befool us again,” said one of her friends. So, they did not pay any heed to her. After sometime the screams stopped, but Cecilia did not come out. Her friends went to the cabin. “Cecilia, why aren’t you screaming anymore?” one of them said, jokingly. However, they were in for a surprise. When they opened the door, Cecilia lay on the floor. She had become unconscious. Her arms and legs were full of scratch marks. Her friends then took her back home. Cecilia soon became better. She could not remember what had happened in the cabin, but she never made fun of her friends again when they spoke about ghosts.
