Before leaving on a voyage, a merchant asked his servants, “Is there anything you want me to take along to trade for you?” All the others offered money or goods, but Joe offered his cat. Soon, the cat was sailing with the merchant in his huge ship. The cat was very happy with the adventure of looking for mice. He chased them from nooks and corners and ate them all up. However, soon he became bored and started wishing for some new adventure, where he could eat more mice. One day, the merchant landed at a far-off port. The palace was overrun by mice, and no one knew how to get rid of them. The cat was delighted. Within four days, he had eaten up all the mice in the palace. The king was so relieved that he gave the merchant a huge reward. Thus, the cat’s adventure made him, the merchant and Joe very happy.
