The Cave

Not far from the Jeffrey’s farm was a little hill. It was not very high but it was rocky with shrubs and bushes growing between the rocks and the boulders. Only goats seemed to climb it up. Theo, the Jeffrey’s son, was curious about the hill and one morning he set off to explore. He took a loaf and a flask of water and his friend, Julian. The two boys imagined they were goats as they climbed! When they were hot and tired, they sat in the shade of a large bush and had a bite to eat. Then they climbed again. Suddenly, they came upon a cave and heard the sound of water. They crept in slowly, excited and scared. It was dark, damp and slippery. Their feet slipped and the boys slid right down into a rushing stream! Luckily, the stream flowed through Jeffrey’s farm and the boys were saved! Now, they never entered the cave.
