The wind was blowing hard. The leaves danced around joyfully. But a little horse-chestnut was scared. All his friends had fallen already, so he was very frightened. Suddenly, a gust of wind shook the branch and down fell the little horse-chestnut. David was sweeping the ground and the chestnut came rolling there. He saw the nut and said, “This is a nice nut. If I plant it in the ground, it will grow into a lovely tree!” He brought a trowel, dug a hole and put the nut in it. The nut was very happy. He said to David, “You are very kind. I promise that I shall become a big horse-chestnut tree.” David laughed and said, “Sure but you will have to wait for a few years more.”
