Once, king lion called his subjects to his court. But his court had a bad stench. A bear entered the court and immediately put a piece of cloth on his nose. The king got angry and threw him out. Then he asked the animals, “Is my court smelling badly?” A monkey replied in a flattering manner, “No Your Majesty! It smells of roses.” The king was not happy with the reply and kicked him out too. Now, a clever fox was trying to creep out of the court when the lion saw him. He called the fox and asked the same question. The fox was also holding a piece of cloth on his nose. He replied, “Sir, I have a terrible cold. I cannot smell anything.” The king smiled at this answer and gave the fox an important position in his court.
