Logan was a large lizard who lived in a dark cave. Every morning he followed a particular route to find his food. One morning, as he sped through the woods, he saw some white daisies. The flowers were so beautiful that he did not notice Vanora the sheep ahead of him. He bumped into Vanora who jumped in fright and fell with a thud. He yelled angrily at Logan, “You clumsy lizard!” Logan said sorry and ran to the riverbank. Some plants and creepers grew on the banks of the river. A long brown vine caught Logan’s attention and he pulled it with great strength. “Yikes!” shrieked Molly the donkey. “Can’t you see that it’s my tail?” she shouted. She kicked him so hard that the poor reptile went flying and landed on Irving the wild cat’s tail. Irving’s tail immediately bent and remained so for ever. Irving snarled at Molly, while two pigeons, who saw the incident, called Logan names and asked him to keep away from them.
While walking back with a lowered head, Logan brushed against the plants so hard that all the grasshoppers that clung to them fell down. They too shouted at Logan, calling him names. Logan locked himself in his cave and did not come out for several days. As tears rolled down his cheeks he thought, ‘Why am I so clumsy?’ However, soon the animals started missing Logan. They apologised for being rude to him and warmly welcomed him back to the woods.
