The Computer

The computer is one of the greatest inventions of science. Computers help us to do our work faster.
Now, we see computers almost everywhere- in homes, offices, shops, banks and post offices.
A computer has two main parts. They are hardware and software. Hardware consists of the parts of the computer which we can touch.
Software are the programmes which are run on the computer. They tell the computer how to do a job.
The hardware of a computer is divided into three parts. They are the monitor, the Central Processing Unit (CPU) and the keyboard.
The monitor looks like a television-set.
The CPU is also called the ‘brain of the computer’.
The data which we put into the computer is called the ‘input’. After processing, the computer gives the result. It is called the ‘output’.
