The Coso Artifact

In 1961, Mikesell picked up an artifact at Olancha, California. It was like a geode, but on cutting he found a circular section of very hard, white material like porcelain with a 2-mm shaft of bright metal. The outer layer was encrusted with fossil shells with two non-magnetic metallic metal objects in the crust, resembling a nail and a washer. The inner layer was hexagonal and seemed to form a casing around the hard porcelain cylinder. Within the inner layer, a layer of decomposing copper surrounded the porcelain cylinder. The location of the artifact is unknown but the speculation of its mysterious origin continues.
