Once there was a poet. He wrote a poem in praise of the king. The king was very happy and wanted to reward the poet. He asked the poet, “What do you want as a reward?” The poet replied, “I want a hound.” The king was surprised to hear this but granted the wish. Then the poet said, “Can I have a horse to go hunting with the hound?” The king agreed to that wish as well. The poet again said, “Sir, can I have a cook to cook whatever I hunt?” The king immediately provided him with a cook. Now, the poet cleverly said, “I am worried as to where to keep these gifts as I have a very small house.” The king immediately granted him a big mansion. The people present there were dumfounded. The poet cleverly had everything but in such a way that the king did not feel that he was greedy.
