The hand lay there in the corner, without a body! It was the creepiest sight that Amy had ever seen. Frightened, she covered her head under the blanket. ‘Where has it come from and why is it here?’ she wondered. Amy thought hard but could not understand how it could have come to her room. It had not been there before she went to bed. ‘It must have come in through the window!’ But Amy could not understand. She was utterly puzzled. How could just the hand come in without the attached body? And it looked so real too! It did not look like a plastic hand. Amy cowered under the covers for a long time. But she had to come out, as she had started feeling really hot in there. Also, she needed some fresh air.
Taking a deep breath, she peeped over the covers. The hand seemed to have moved its position. It seemed closer! ‘What is it going to do to me? Why is it coming closer? How is it moving?’ her mind was full of questions. She was on the horns of dilemma. Deciding to take a closer look, Amy went up to the hand. She extended her own hand to touch it and hesitatingly stroked it gently. To her surprise, the hand suddenly jumped at her and stroked her cheek softly. Amy was no longer afraid. Now, the hand was like Amy’s third hand. It was always next to her, helping her out with all her things. Not all monsters are bad, you see! Some monsters are very helpful.
