Once upon a time, there was a cruel king. No one was happy under his rule. Strangely, one fine day, he turned over a new leaf. He announced, “From today, there will be no more cruelty or injustice.” One day, one of his ministers asked him, “Your Majesty, what brought this change in you?” The king replied, “One day, I saw a fox being chased by a hound. The hound bit into its leg and lamed it for life. Later, the same hound was barking at a man. The man picked up a huge stone and flung it at the hound, breaking its leg. The man had not gone far when he was kicked by a horse. He was disabled for life. The horse began to run but it fell into a hole and broke its leg. Reflecting on all that had happened, I thought, ‘Evil begets evil.’ So, I decided to change.”
Moral: One should always change for the better.
