Once, a baby swallow named Maggi had learnt flying for the first time. At first, she was very excited and kept flying from one tree to another for many hours. So Maggi became very tired and decided to take rest and went to the top of the tree, where she saw the colour of the leaves had changed from dark green to pale green. Maggi wondered whether the tree was ill. Next day, Maggi again went to the same tree and became astounded to see that the colour of the leaves had turned brown from pale green. Then she came to know that the leaves were dying and falling off. Maggi immediately went to her mother and told about the falling leaves.
Then the mother replied, “They are not dying; the falling leaves are the sign of the arrival of the autumn season. Soon, the winter season will arrive. We will have to go to a place where the sun shines throughout the day and it is warm.” The mother swallow and Maggi flew away with the pack of swallows to warmer lands.
