Hatim woke up feeling strange. In his sleep, he had dreamt that a pair of spectacular looking birds was revealing the secret of the pearl eggs to him. When he woke up, he saw the colourful feathers on his lap and he realised that his dreams were the answers to his prayers. He got up and walked towards the southern direction. On his way, Hatim saw a vixen crying in distress. When he asked her the cause of her sorrow, she said, “The hunter took away my babies and I cannot live without them!” “I will help you,” said Hatim. “How can I trust you? You are also a human. You may betray me, just like the man who betrayed the monkey,” she said. Then she narrated the story of a family of monkeys who lived in the jungle.
