There was a village. In the village there lived a shepherd. He had many sheep. The shepherd had a dog which kept a watch on the sheep. The shepherd trusted him and took good care of him. One day, the shepherd went out for some work. He left the dog to guard the sheep. When he returned, he saw blood on the dog’s mouth. He counted the number of the sheep. He found that one sheep was missing from the flock. The shepherd found the missing sheep behind the bushes. It was dead. He also found the dog’s hair near the body. The shepherd became angry. He decided to punish the dog. The dog cried, “Master, do not punish me. I killed only one sheep.” The shepherd replied, “You have cheated me when I trusted you. Nothing can change that.” Saying so, the farmer chased the dog away.
