There lived a donkey and a lion in a forest. They were fast friends.
They were always seen together. Seeing them the other animals of the forest ran panicked.
Infact the animals were scared of the lion but the donkey thought, it was also powerful.
One day when the lion and the donkey were wandering they came across a pack of wolves.
Seeing the wolves, the donkey plunged to them braying and the lion stood silent.
The wolves got scared and ran away to save their lives.
The donkey returned to the lion and said, “Friend, did you see my bravery? None could face me.”
The lion lent no ear to its words and said, “Friend, why were you braying so loudly.”
The donkey replied, “Didn’t you see, friend! When the wolves saw me they ran away fast.”
The lion burst into laughter, “You are my friend but the wolves were scared of me, not you.”
The lion further said, “When you are alone never do like this. The wolves will tear you into pieces.”
Moral : Never pick a quarrel relying on others’ power.
Terrible Wolf and Clever Rabbit
wo rabbits, Cheeku & Meeku passed by an orchard while roaming in the forest. In the orchard trees were laden with fruits.
They got tempted. But they also knew that a terrible wolf was the owner of that orchard. Even then, they entered into it.
Meeku told Cheeku if the wolf came to know it, then our lives would be in danger.
But, Cheeku was adamant. He climbed on a tree and started plucking the fruits. Meeku hid behind a tree at some distance.
When Cheeku was plucking the fruits it saw the wolf coming. Cheeku jumped down and entered into a drum having the fruits in its hands.
Meeku sensed the danger to Cheeku’s life. Meanwhile, Cheeku came out and stood there quietly keeping the fruits inside the drum.
After sometime, the wolf reached there and asked Cheeku whether it did see any rabbit with fruits in its hands?
Cheeku atonce understood that the wolf could not recognise it. Meeku was still looking them from a distance.
Cheeku signalled towards the drum and said, “I have seen a rabbit entering into the drum.” The wolf reached near the drum.
The smell of fruits was emanating out of the drum. In a fit of rage the wolf jumped into the drum.
As soon as the wolf jumped into the drum, Cheeku hurriedly put the lid on it. Meeku had also reached there.
The wolf died of suffocation. Thus, Cheeku became owner of the orchard because of its cleverness and started living there with Meeku
Moral : Intelligence is superior to physical power.
