Once in the city of Baghdad, a slave-girl named Muunis was displayed for sale to the Emir Ali Bin Mohammed Abdullah Bin Tahir.
The girl was much ahead of her fellows in terms of beauty and proliferation, apart from being a great poetess. He asked her, “What does she think of a lover in distress?” She replied, “A stressful lover should be granted all favours he sought.”
The Emir was pleased and gave her seventy thousand dirhams and bestowed on her Obaid Allah bin Mohammed, minister of Police.
