The Entertainment Lamp

Rosemary was a curious child who wanted to know everything. One day, she was helping her grandma arrange the cupboard. The cupboard was full of old objects. She observed each object with deep interest. Suddenly, Rosemary found an old lamp that looked beautiful. “Is it a magical lamp, grandma?” she asked. “No darling,” said grandma, “but I call it my entertainment lamp!” “Entertainment lamp?” Rosemary was more surprised. “Yes, entertainment! This lamp will tell you stories just like a film theatre,” grandma replied. Rosemary looked confused. Grandma smiled and said, “If you were to look into its dancing flames, you could come up with such fascinating stories, Rosemary! Look; sometimes the flames remind us of dragons, and other times, of warriors. Try it!” Rosemary loved the idea. Every evening, she sat with her grandma and told her stories based on the flickering light of the lamp! Grandma loved those stories.
