The farm was in great excitement. A fair was coming to the meadow right next to the farm! The farm animals watched in delight as the swings and the stalls were put up. There were goodies and children’s rides and games. Farmer Trevor decided to offer rides on his horse, goat and donkey to children. This made the others feel miserable. But that evening, they heard Farmer Trevor talking to the manager of the fair. “Can the children visit your farm, Mr Trevor?” asked the manager. “They would make a lot of noise and mess,” said Farmer Trevor, looking worried. “I’ll pay you for the visits and send men to clean up every evening.” Farmer Trevor was happy and the creatures were thrilled. They had a lot of fun with children visiting and playing with them all day. “Come again next year,” they all said, as they waved goodbye to the fair.
