Once, there was a princess, beautiful but arrogant and rude. One day, a beggar came to the palace. He requested the princess, “Please give me food. I am hungry.” The princess looked at his ugly face and screamed, “How dare an ugly man like you come in front of me?” To her surprise, the beggar transformed into a beautiful fairy and cursed the princess, “May your face turn as ugly as your heart is!” Suddenly, the princess’ fair skin darkened and she looked horrible. She hid in her room and didn’t come out for many days. Slowly, the princess understood her mistake and became kinder. One night, the princess saw a swan hit by an arrow in her garden. The princess pulled the arrow out and nursed the swan. The swan was also a fairy. She said, “Princess, you have realised your mistake. Now, you are free from the curse.” Thus, the princes became a beautiful and kind person.
