A cobbler decided to shift to another town and started practising medicine there. The people of that town believed him because nobody knew him. The cobbler told everyone, “I have a medicine that can cure all poisons!” This news spread through the town like wild fire. The cobbler became very famous. One day, it so happened that the cobbler himself fell ill. The governor of the town decided to test the cobbler’s medicine. For this purpose, he took a cup, and while filling it with water, pretended to mix poison. Then he told the cobbler to drink it on the promise of a reward. The cobbler got scared. He told the governor the truth. The governor told the people, “You people are guilty of believing a man whom no one employed to mend even shoes! How could he save your lives?”
