The Flies and the Honey

The-Flies-and-the-honey

Once upon a time, a farmer went to the forest to collect honey. To his delight, he found some lovely honey. He collected the honey in a pot. As he was going towards his house, he stumbled against a stone and fell down. The pot of honey also fell and all the honey spread on the ground. The farmer cried, “Oh! What bad luck! I cannot collect the honey from the ground!” Saying so, he went home. But all the while he cursed his luck. A swarm of flies was flying by. They saw the honey and quickly flew down to eat it. Having had their fill, they tried to fly away but their feet and wings got stuck in the honey. They were trapped now. The flies cried, “How foolish we are! For a little pleasure, we have to die an untimely death.” But it was too late to repent.
