Once upon a time, there was a very learned saint. He was known all over for his powers. One day, he was walking with his disciples. On the way, he saw a pond full of fish. He stopped there. He caught some fish and put them in his mouth. The disciples did the same. The saint said nothing to them and after some time moved ahead. Then they reached another pond. There were no fish. The saint stood near the water and threw out the fish which he had swallowed. The fish were alive and swam about happily. The disciples also threw out the fish but those fish had died. They could not understand how the saint’s fish were alive. At this, the saint shouted, “Fools, when you didn’t know how to keep the fish alive, why did you imitate me?” The disciples were red-faced and could only apologize to the saint.
Moral: Never imitate anyone blindly.
