Once, a teacher told his disciples never to do anything without his permission. One day, while they were travelling in a cart, the teacher’s turban fell on the road. But as their teacher had told them never to do anything without his permission, none of the disciples made a move to get down and pick it up. The teacher was very angry. He shouted, “The next time if anything falls pick it up at once!” A short while later, the bullock dropped its dung and the four foolish disciples picked it up. The teacher was horrified. So, he made a list of the things that could be picked up. Suddenly, the cart lurched violently and the teacher was thrown headlong into a ditch. The disciples did not pick him up as he was not on the list. So, the teacher had to write his own name and then only did the disciples pick him up.
