Long, long ago, there lived a king, who was very fond of monkeys. One big monkey used to serve the king as his personal attendant. The king considered him to be as intelligent as a human being. When the king took rest in his bedroom, the monkey used to sit beside him like his personal bodyguard.
Once the king returned tired from hunting trip to his palace after many days. So, he went to bed early. He told the monkey to keep a watch around and see that nobody disturbed him during his sleep. The monkey sat near king’s bed with a naked sword in his hand and started guarding his master.
After sometime, the monkey heard a small fly buzzing around in the room. The fly soon came nearer and sat on the face of the sleeping king.
The monkey first tried to shoo away the fly, but it kept on hovering over the king’s face. It sat on his nose again and again. Seeing this the monkey lost his temper. He decided to kill the fly. So, when the fly sat on the king’s nose again, the monkey hit it with the sword. The fly flew away, but the sword fell on king’s neck and he got beheaded. He died then and there on his bed.
