Once, a raven lived in a clan with other ravens. The raven was very much disappointed with his appearance and always wondered to have feathers like peacocks. One day, the raven was roaming in the jungle in search of food. Meanwhile he saw some beautiful feathers of the peacocks lying scattered on the ground. The raven collected a few feathers and tied them to his tail. He then flew away. The peacocks that were returning from the forest saw the raven and were angry at what he had done. “Such a silly bird that raven is!” One peacock said, “By sticking our feathers he thinks he can be one of us!” “Let us teach him a lesson,” suggested another.
They pecked at him and bullied him. The raven flew away to join his own clan. He met the other birds who laughed and made fun of him. When he reached his clan, the other ravens were also very annoyed with him. They said to him, “You should be ashamed of yourself. You have disgraced our clan. As a punishment, from today you will not stay with us.”
