There was a young man. He was known everywhere as a good spender. To live up to his reputation as a good spender, the man started spending his money very quickly. Soon, a time came when he found himself with not a penny left, and no property except the clothes he wore. One day, a swallow flew by, twittering merrily. The young man thought summer had come. He was so happy that he sold all the clothes he wore down to his very tunic. But, a few days later, there was a change in the weather. There was a severe frost. The foolish young spendthrift was only in his tunic. His arms and knees were bare. He could not stop himself from shivering. He repented saying, “Oh! I wish I had not spent everything I had.” But now, it was too late to repent.
