When Jane’s mother placed a garden gnome near the row of daisies in the garden, Jane did not feel comfortable. “Mom, won’t the poor gnome feel hot standing out there all day in the sun?” she asked her mom. Jane’s mother didn’t reply. So, she took her own umbrella and covered the gnome with it. Jane was happy to shelter the gnome. A few days later, it rained heavily one day. The ground became slippery. Jane slipped on the ground. She scraped her knee and twisted her ankle. She would have to stay home for a few days. She was crying helplessly. She thought how happy she was before the pain. When she woke up the next morning, she was feeling miraculously better! There was a note on the windowsill: “One good turn deserves another. Thanks for the umbrella.” The garden gnome had used his magic to cure her!
