There lived a frog in a small pond.
A mouse also lived in a hole under the banyan tree near the pond.
They were the best friends and could not live without each other.
One day on a hot summer afternoon the frog advised mouse to swim in the cool water of the pond.
The mouse replied, “Oh no! I can’t come into the water because I don’t know how to swim.”
The frog gave an idea, “I will tie your forelegs to my hindlegs. Then I will swim and along with me you can also swim.”
The mouse liked the idea, “Good! It should work.”
They tied their legs with a string and jumped into the pond.
The frog could swim, so he enjoyed swimming, but what about the rat?
The water entered in the mouse’s ears, mouth and nose and he was chocked to death.
After swimming, the frog came out of the water and the dead mouse also followed him.
The frog examined the mouse closely and found that its friend was dead.
Meanwhile a hawk who was flying above the pond saw the dead mouse.
The hawk swooped down and caught the mouse in its claws and the frog also got lifted up being tied to it.
A FOOLISH ASTROLOGER
Once there was a famous astrologer in a village.
He was mostly busy predicting the future by studying the positions of the planets.
One day he was walking as usual with his head up and eyes observing the sky.
That was why he could not see the danger below.
And he fell into the deep trench.
Some passersby helped him out of the trench.
One of them asked, “How did you fall in the trench?”
The astrologer told them that he was watching the planets to predict the future.
A man taunted, “If you could not see a big trench then how can you predict the future?”
Moral : Know about yourself first, then predict for others.
