Once there were three brothers who decided to take their wives from the place where their arrows would fall after being shot from their bows. They shot their arrows. The arrows of the two elder brothers fell on noblemen’s houses, so they led home their noble wives. The youngest brother’s arrow fell into a lake, so he married a frog that was croaking. But his brothers did not like this and threw him out of the house with his frog. He started living in a small cottage where the frog took off the frog’s skin and turned to a beautiful maiden.
The boy seized the frog’s skin and burnt it. Soon the news spread to the whole countryside that the man possessed a lovely woman who had come to him from heaven. When the lord of the country heard of this, he threatened the boy that he would be killed if he did not give him his wife. The boy sought the help of the lord’s mother in heaven who gave him a casket. The boy took the casket to the lord. The lord opened the casket and there came forth fire, which swallowed him up.
