Once, there lived a kind rabbit in a forest. One day, he built an incredible burrow where he was living very peacefully and happily. He designed his burrow so well and strong that nothing could destroy it. One day, a great rainstorm arrived and the whole forest was flooded. It destroyed the homes of many animals but the rabbit’s burrow remained undamaged. The animals who lost their home reached the rabbit’s burrow and asked if he would allow them to stay with him in his house that winter. He welcomed each and every animal and soon there was no room left. They spent the whole winter together in the burrow and the kind-hearted rabbit never complained. Finally, spring arrived and all the animals went back to their old homes. All of them were thankful to the rabbit as he helped them in their bad time.
One afternoon, the rabbit was hopping through the bushes where a lynx was waiting for him. He was unaware of the lynx and kept hopping in the bushes. Suddenly, a raccoon noticed the lynx in the bushes and warned the rabbit just in time. He called the rabbit to his burrow and the rabbit ran quickly to take shelter in his home.
The lynx ran behind the rabbit and destroyed the house where the rabbit hid himself. The rabbit managed to save his life and ran to another friend’s house. For the whole day, the lynx followed the rabbit but the rabbit always managed to save himself with the help of those friends whom he had offered shelter in the winter. At last, the lynx got tired and went back. The rabbit was so happy, not only for having escaped the lynx, but also for having true friends. All thanks to his generosity!
