Once, a man carved a beautiful gebeta board (a board game) for his son. The son carried his board under his arm wherever he went. Once, he came upon some men who wanted wood. The son showed them his board but they used it for burning. The son started crying, so they gave him a knife. Soon, a man asked for his knife to dig the ground. In the process, he broke the knife. To compensate for the loss, he gave the boy a spear. Now, after a while, some hunters asked him for the spear. But they broke the spear and gave him a horse instead. A woman wanted the horse and gave him a gebeta board. He took the gebeta board and went back home. His father smiled and said, “What is better than a gebeta game board to keep a small boy out of trouble?”
