Benny was a sprightly, rosy-faced little boy. He lived with his mother in a little cottage in the country. They were too poor and were unable to buy delicacies. But the wholesome, simple food they ate was ample to keep him healthy and strong. He usually ate porridge with milk. One day, Benny woke up to a bright, sunny day and was about to start his breakfast. Suddenly he saw a very poor, old man sitting outside his house. The old man was very frail and thin, and looked quite starved. The kind-hearted Benny took his bowl of porridge to the old man, and asked him to eat it. The old man ate the porridge happily. He blessed Benny with all his heart. Many people give away things that are of no use to them any longer, but that is not what being generous means. Sharing what you have with others without any hesitation is true generosity.
