Once, there was a village. The people there were so poor that they had never seen a gold coin. But one day, suddenly, a man found a gold coin on the road. The village headman decided to present the coin to the king. It was to be placed in a palanquin and carried to the palace. Soon, the journey began. But the path was bumpy and unknown to anyone, the coin fell from the palanquin. Soon, the men reached the palace. The courtiers welcomed them warmly. In the evening, the men took the palanquin to the king and told him, “Sir, we have a gift for you.” The king was happy. But when the headman looked for the gold coin, it was not there. The courtiers were very angry. But the king realised that the men were innocent and forgave them.
