The Good Master

The-Good-Master

Once upon a time, there was a merchant. One day, he was going on a matter of business. His servant was also accompanying him. As they were walking along a road, they saw a labourer carrying a heavy sack coming from the opposite side. As the labourer passed by, the merchant was hit by the sack and his cap fell on the road. The servant thought that the labourer would now get a good scolding. But to his surprise, the merchant said, “Go and help the labourer pick his sack.” The merchant did not scold the labourer at all. The labourer thanked both of them. Later, they continued their journey. The servant asked, “Sir, why did you not scold him?” The merchant replied, “It was my mistake, not his. He was already carrying a heavy load. I should have walked more carefully.” Hearing this, the servant lauded his master.
Moral: A person should never blame others for his fault.
