Once, a man named Gundoba liked to feed poor people after his prayers. His wife did not like this. One day, Gundoba invited a poor man to a meal. He said, “Please go ahead. I will come after some time.” The wife got angry and thought, ‘I must get rid of this unwanted guest by some trick.’ She pretended to weep. When the guest asked her why she was crying, she said, “My husband always brings a guest, pretending to feed him. Then he ties him and beats him with a grain pounder.” The frightened guest ran away. When Gundoba asked about the guest, his wife said, “The strange guest asked me for a grain pounder and rope. When I refused, the fool left the house.” Gundoba took the pounder and rope and ran after the guest. The guest saw Gundoba running after him with the pounder and the rope. He increased his speed and escaped.
