A lion was feeling hungry. Walking around the forest, he saw a hare sleeping under a tree. The lion could not control his joy. As he was about to pounce on the sleeping hare, he saw a deer near by. The lion became greedy. He thought, “This deer is a better dinner for me than the hare.” So, he began chasing the deer. But the ruckus made by the lion woke the hare up. She saw the lion and got frightened. She immediately ran away. Meanwhile, the deer ran so fast that the lion could not catch him. Finally, the tired lion gave up. He decided to feast upon the hare. But, to his disappointment, the hare had run away. The lion exclaimed sadly, “Alas! If only I could have eaten the hare. But my greed got the better of me. And now I have lost the hare, too”
