Long ago, in a land faraway, there was a mouse. He was considered the meanest and scariest mouse in the land. Even the cats would run away in fright at the mere sight of his shadow. He used to terrorize everyone with his wide-brimmed cowboy hat pulled tightly onto his head. One day, as usual, when he was terrorizing a small lizard, there came a sudden gust of wind. And well, it blew off the mouse’s hat! The small lizard rolled around with laughter. With the hat gone, the mouse did not look menacing at all. He had a soft tuft of hair like all the other mice. He looked like any ordinary small mouse. There was nothing scary about him. The hat was the secret weapon to frighten others. The mouse was so embarrassed that he ran off never to be seen again.
