The Hatim of the Tai Tribe

They say that the Hatim of the Tai tribe was buried atop a mountain and his grave was set over by two troughs hewn out of two rocks and stone girls with tangled hair.

The mountain had a running water stream and the campers always heard loud outcries of girls in the night until daybreak, only to find nothing but the carved girls on stone in the morning.

One fine day King of Himyar, Zul-Kura passed by the valley and heard similar keening near the mountain. Knowing the history, he prayed to the Hatim that they were his guests for that night and soon was asleep. In his dream, the Hatim smote his she-camel with his sword and left her struggling with life.

Soon the Arabs killed her and the next morning; the King set out back to his town with his companions and was confronted by Adi, son of Hatim. Adi asked the King to take his beast since his beast was killed by his father, as Adi was informed by Hatim in his dreams too. Zul-Kura was pleased and took her to his kingdom.
