Once there was a handsome prince. He was passing through a forest when he saw a young lady sitting by a well full of water. He was smitten by her beauty. He asked her, “Fair maiden, will you marry me?” The young lady said, “Yes, but only if you make a hole in the water.” “That’s nothing short of a miracle!” said the prince. The lady said, “If your love is true, miracles can happen.” The prince was dejected. He did not know what to do. So he went back to his palace. Months passed and seasons changed. It was winter when the prince rode back to the forest. As he passed by the well, he saw that it was frozen. He remembered the young lady’s words and looked around for her. She was sitting near by. He got off his horse and made a hole in the ice with a twig. The young lady married the prince.
