The Hook Island Sea Monster

The Hook Island Sea Monster is a gigantic, tadpole-like 30 ft long monster, supposedly encountered by Le Serrec in Stonehaven Bay, Hook Island, Queensland on December 12, 1964. A large wound was visible on the right side of the tail which might have caused the animal to take rest in the shallow bay. But Le Serrec was suspected to be a person without integrity. This led to stories that it could have been anything like a plastic bag, a deflated skyhook balloon or even plastic sheet weighed down by sand. The Hook Island case is undoubtedly a hoax, albeit a pretty good one.
