Tim and Joe were good friends and always played together. They also quarrelled sometimes. However, they never shared their food. One day, they were playing under the apple tree. There was just one apple left on the apple tree. They both saw the apple at the same time and ran to pluck it. When they reached the tree, they started arguing as who should pluck and eat it. “I will have this apple,” Tim said. “No, I will have this apple,” Joe shouted back. The gardener working near by thought the boys did not know how to share. He decided to teach them a lesson. He went, plucked the apple and said to them, “See, this is what happens when we fight! I got the apple instead of you! If both of you had decided to share it, you would be enjoying this juicy apple instead of me!” Tim and Joe learnt the importance of sharing.
