Once a family of lions lived in a dense forest. One day, the lion was prowling through the forest in search of prey. He found a lost jackal cub in the forest. He said to the lioness, “Let us raise him along with our two cubs.” The three cubs grew up together, as brothers. Some months later, they saw an elephant. The lion cubs faced him bravely, but the jackal cub ran away. The lioness said to the jackal cub, “Do not be ashamed. You are a jackal and jackals do not attack elephants. But my sons may attack you when they realise that you are not a lion. It is time for you to live with the jackals.” The jackal cub understood what the lioness wanted to say, as he knew the lioness loved and cared for him. So, he agreed and went in search of other jackals.
