The chocolate factory was just outside the town. It made the best chocolates in the world! ‘I wish I could get the chance to go inside it, just once!’ thought Sade, wistfully.
The next day, there was a letter in the mail for Sade. ‘Who could be sending me a letter?’ she wondered as she tore open the envelope.
“Oh yippee!” she screamed. It was the entry ticket to the chocolate factory. It was unbelievable, and Sade had no idea who her mysterious benefactor was, but she was not letting go of the opportunity to visit the chocolate factory! She was very excited.
When the day came, Sade was up and ready to go by dawn. On the way, Sade came to an abrupt halt when she saw a gooey, green, three-eyed monster that sat like a lump of jelly in the middle of the path. Drooling from the mouth, it eyed Sade greedily. “You look so sweet!” it said sloshing on its words.
Sade was paralyzed with fear. The monster continued to drool, “Come to me, you sweet little chocolate. You look like a treat!”
Sade ran. The jelly monster just rolled behind her, that too at an amazing speed! Wherever Sade went, the jelly monster followed. She turned right, it rolled behind her. She turned left, and it was there already, waiting for her in the middle of the path. There was just no running away from it! It almost felt as if the monster could read her mind at once.
Sade could see the chocolate factory’s gates just ahead of her. She had to find a way to run away from the jelly monster somehow and make it to the entrance of the factory’s. Once inside, she knew she would be safe.
“Hey you!” she screamed at the monster, “Come and get me!”
Sade ran with all her strength in the opposite direction from the factory. The jelly monster sloshed behind her, rolling faster than the wind. Sade suddenly came to a halt while running in the middle of the road, which took the jelly monster by surprise. It was rolling so fast that it could not stop in time and rolled off the side of the hill.
The jelly monster rolled down to the bottom of the hill where the river flowed, cold, deep and very swift! If fell into the river and was swept away.
Sade was safe now. She could go to the chocolate factory without any fear.
