The Killer Boat

Harry looked at the placid lake. This was the perfect campsite, peaceful and beautiful. He recalled that the earlier campers had been scared and had left quickly. What could be wrong with this peaceful scene? Harry pitched his tent, spread out a mat, opened his picnic basket and ate a leisurely lunch. He watched herons and geese on the banks. Suddenly, there was a commotion; the geese and the heron flew away terrified, squawking. Out of nowhere, a blue boat emerged. It was moving at a top speed, straight in Harry’s direction. Harry fled and hid behind a tree. He saw that the boat was empty. His picnic things were flung about by an invisible force. Now, it swished towards the tree behind which he was hiding. Harry jumped into his car and drove off. As soon as he was out of the lake bounds, the force stopped chasing him. ‘At least I am safe. I can always buy another tent,’ thought Harry.
